Build It.BAHAYNihan: A Community-Led Housing Renovation Initiative \n\n\n\nThere is no debate in saying that housing is a fundamental human right and architects are in a virtuous position to contribute to the discussion and towards concrete solutions: reinforcing our roles not just as designers but as builders of an equitable and just society. \n\n\n\nThe theme for World Architecture Day 2026 is “Housing is a Human Right. Build It.” The right to adequate and habitable housing for all is a campaign continuously fought for and secured by the people for the people. In the face of multiple calamities\, including aberrant weather conditions and destructive earthquakes\, we emphasize and strengthen this call towards the underprivileged and less fortunate. \n\n\n\nWith this\, UAP Diliman launches its donation drive for the BAHAYNihan: A Community-Led Housing Renovation Initiative\, a collaboration with the community of Ave Maria\, Antipolo\, Rizal.  \n\n\n\nNestled on a three-hectare\, semi-forested property in Sitio Banic\, Tanay\, Rizal\, the village stands on land generously donated by Ms. Dolly Arboleda—grandmother of Ms. Isabelle Daza—for the municipality’s less fortunate. Today\, it serves as a safe haven for families displaced by road widening projects and severe typhoons\, as well as other local indigent residents. \n\n\n\nYears after initial construction\, many of these homes now urgently require essential repairs\, including new roofing\, fresh paint\, and general maintenance. We invite you to partner with us in this revitalizing effort.
