Facing “the big one”
ByArrianeUAP Diliman’s CPD seminar “Facing The Big One” gathered over 300 architects, students, and professionals last August 16, 2025 to prepare for a major earthquake. Featuring experts from DOST, UP College of Architecture, and the DOH, the event highlighted seismology updates, resilient building design, hospital safety, legal issues, and post-disaster recovery. With lectures, workshops, and case studies, the seminar equipped architects with practical strategies for earthquake preparedness and disaster-resilient architecture in the Philippines.
